Light Bearers - Releasing Redemption in Dark Times

The year 2022 is here, and we are bearing witness to unprecedented shifts around the world. We are seeing an increase in disease, natural disasters, violence and war—all of which are tearing at the fabric of communities on a global scale. We are also living in an unprecedented hour of prophetic fulfillment. The earth is crying out in intensified travail (both in the natural and the spiritual), as if preparing to give birth as Jesus foretold in Matthew 24. As children of God, we must stay steadfast and focused on truth as these birth pangs are released.

It's Time to Be the Light

As we continue our journey into 2022, I feel there is prophetic significance to this year. The number 20 is often used in the Word to symbolize redemption. For example, in Exodus 30:11-14 the Lord instructed Moses that all Israelites, at the age of 20 years and older, give a ransom of half a shekel to the Lord to make atonement, and so that no plague would come upon them.

The number 20 also signifies a complete or perfect waiting period. In Judges 4-5, the children of Israel waited 20 years to be freed from Jabin (the king of Canaan) who oppressed them. God's response was to raise up Deborah and Barak, who freed the people from bondage. In 1 Kings, Solomon spent 7 years building the house of God in Jerusalem, and another 13 building his own home, for a total number of 20 years. After he had completed both buildings, Solomon gave Hiram (the king of Tyre) 20 cities in the land of Galilee.

The number 22 represents light to discern the time. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet, which is the alphabet used to compose the Word of God. The Word of God is a lamp at our feet to guide our way (Psalm 119:105), revealing that these 22 Hebrew letters illuminate our path. The word "light" is also found 264 times in Scripture. If we divide 264 by 12 (the number which represents divine authority), we have 22.

From these prophetic insights about 2022, I believe the Lord is declaring that the waiting period is over, and He is releasing light upon His people to bring forth redemption to the nations. If there was ever a time to need the light of God to discern what is happening in the spirit, it's now! As you know, in the absence of order, chaos erupts; in the absence of God's light, darkness will prevail. God's grace and light won't ever be dimmed, as long as there is one light that shines bright like that of a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14).

It is time to not only walk in that light, but to BE that light spoken of in Matthew 5:14! We are called to be light bearers. Darkness has no authority over us. The crucifixion and death of Jesus spoken of in Matthew 27 is a beautiful reminder that when Jesus died, He broke ALL bonds with death, Hell and the grave—for us all, for eternity! It is our inheritance as children of the light (1 Thessalonians 5:4-6) to dispel darkness in Jesus' name—dispel it from our thoughts, our lives, and the lives of those around us.

Are You Ready to Receive the Fullness of God's Blessing and Favor?

We have lived through such intense, unprecedented times these past few years, leaving far too many saints feeling robbed of their lives and livelihoods. But God is saying that the hour to stand firm on the prophetic words He's given you is NOW. I would like to encourage you: the Lord longs to restore ALL that has been stolen from you. The question is, are you ready to receive the fullness of that blessing? Do you believe in your heart that He wants to restore all that the locusts have stolen from you (Joel 2:25)?

Now is the time to realize/remember that we can redeem what the enemy has stolen from us! We can encounter the full blessing of God, regardless of our circumstances or what the world says, all because God says He will. And if He says He will, HE WILL! His Word is steadfast and true, and there is no darkness in Him.

It is also time to remember the inheritance we have as the saints. Some of you think that you have lost what God has ordained and called you to, but you haven't. It may have been dormant, but never lose your faith and trust in Him. Isaiah 22:22 talks about the keys of David, saying, "And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his (Eliakim's) shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open" (KJV, emphasis added). Just like Eliakim, I'm telling you, God is giving us favor! He's given us the key to unlock doors and gates in every city, every state, and every nation around the world to set the captives free. It's time. 2022 is our year!

Isaiah 66:6 speaks about the Lord's rebuke on hypocrisy, saying, "A sound of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple, the voice of the LORD who is dealing retribution to His enemies" (NASB). The perfect waiting period has passed, the Lord is illuminating the path, and as we speak, God is shaking things! He is shaking the nations, He is shaking the heavens, and He is shaking the world for the greatest revival we could only ever dream about.

The Year of Great Evangelism: Reformers and Transformers, Arise!

I feel in my spirit that the year 2022 is destined to be a year of great evangelism of the Lord. Those of you who have been waiting to be unleashed into your destiny—this is your time! Reformers and transformers—arise! Each of us is called to release supernatural transformation to the world. We are warriors in the Kingdom, called to release Heaven on Earth. It is time to defend the land and its people, which the Lord has promised as our inheritance (Psalm 2:8). It is time to rise up and stand tall on the shoulders of giants, unafraid, as we carry their heads off the battlefield. There are no giants (spirits of darkness or plans of the enemy) that can get in your way!

Before you ready your swords for battle in the name of the Lord, remember that true transformation must start from within before it can be carried out around you—aka, it starts with YOU. Going back one verse to Isaiah 66:5 (about the Lord's rebuke on hypocrisy) it says, "Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: 'Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name's sake, have said, "Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy." But they will be put to shame'" (NASB).

Many of you have allowed the hatred and lies being spoken over you to brand you, which are impacting you spiritually and mentally. The enemy is using the hatred and rejection you feel to keep you bound, and some of you feel the flames of fire chasing you. I am here to tell you that this is the onslaught of the enemy, and he has NO authority over you! But he will continue to torment you as long as you let him, so you need to start pulling it together and do something about it! You are amazing, and you are overflowing with the gifts that God has placed inside you. Rise up and see yourself through His eyes! Start utilizing those weapons God has given you, and sharpen that sickle, as the harvest is plentiful! The laborers WILL be abundant as we step up into our destinies!

Renewing our minds with the Word of God is more important than ever before. The deep understanding of the Word of God brings life and reminds us of His promises to us. I urge you to pray for God to highlight (bring light to) His truths and what He is doing in this season; this is how both clarity and discernment will come. There are examples all throughout Scripture of godly men and women who received divine insight from the Word of God to help release nations into their destinies:

• In 1 Chronicles 12, the sons of Issachar understood the times and received wisdom on the best course for Israel to take.

• In the book of Daniel, Daniel understood by the books that it was time for Israel's return, and he set his heart to pray and fast.

• In Matthew 23 (and several other passages of Scripture), Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His day because He was right there in their midst, and they did not recognize the signs that they were on God's prophetic countdown.

We Are Soldiers of God

I want to leave you with these mighty reminders: We are soldiers for God and the Church is full of amazing warriors! We are anointed in His Spirit, and we need to continue walking in God's fire and speaking in tongues to effectively take out the enemy. By "take out the enemy" I mean demon busting, laying hands on the dead, praying for the blind, healing deaf ears, awakening the sleeping Bride and releasing miracles on Earth!

Now is the time to move forward in boldness and confidence! And as we cross over to the other side, into the land of abundance, we will discover SUCH a harvest of souls crying and waiting to have their names written in the Lamb's book of life. The ones in great darkness desperately need to know the Light of the world (Jesus), and how to effectively stand up against the enemy, not bow to him. We have been anointed and ordained by God to help release the light and freedom that can only come from Christ. As we allow God's truth to light our pathways, we can rejoice, knowing that His glory and redemption are covering the earth like never before!

Remain steadfast, saints. It is a privilege to stand strong alongside you as we march into victory, in the mighty name of Jesus!
